SYNOPSIS

Told in a series of loose-knit vignettes that range from quiet naturalism to absurd and surrealist extremes, Neutral is an absorbing cross-section of human connections lost and found through a shared artistic curiosity.

Examples of scenes include the shadows of a boy and girl discussing the favorite shapes they become, a chance encounter between a young woman and the author of her life, and a father taking his family trip far out of the way to return a friend's five pack of diet soda.

PRODUCTION NOTES

-Filmed on location in Asheville and Black Mountain, NC during the late summer of 2006.

-Director CHANG lived in his truck, worked two jobs and ate peanut butter sandwiches for a year in order to save the budget to shoot NEUTRAL on film.

-The crew lived, slept on the floor, and worked out of a warehouse/compound in downtown Asheville. It is now a dive bar called The Prospect.
